 Red - Power and energy, hence it's the colour of the tie in a power suit. If a person has a presentation to give, or works in sales, red is excellent. Also, if a person is shy and wants to portray a more outgoing image, this is the colour. Unless one is very uncomfortable in it. Yellow - conveys youthfulness, thus in turn, energy. A Junior management person or a younger person looks polished and credible in yellow. Green - Spells harmony and calmness. Also demonstrates credibility. Olive green is good for men in meetings. Women, pick your shade of green carefully as it can make one look drab. Blue - expresses serenity , peace and introspection, in its variety of shades. A navy blue suit is the most acceptable to wear. It looks very good on television. Purple - expresses power and creativity. Good for business meetings or presentations.
 Pink - Feminine, creative colour. While traditionally worn by women, more younger, stylish men are choosing this colour with traditional suits to add a modern look. Not good for television presenters. Orange - shows a confident, outgoing nature. Mostly used as a colour on shirts or ties.
 Brown - Conveys comfort and practicality. Is acceptable any time, more in a business casual set up. Power meetings do better with darker colours in blue and gray. Black - denotes creativity. Is fine for retail, architectural and advertising agencies or evening formal wear. |
